Just for Pets continue to put Pet Welfare First
23rd May 2024
We at Just for Pets have long championed animal welfare by taking such steps as removing rawhide and pet corrector sprays, refusing to sell tiny cages and promoting high meat nutrition. We have now gone one step further by removing all live animals from all of our stores.
Our Coventry branch was the last store to sell live birds, and we have removed all the remaining ones to recommended local rescue centres.
While the store has always received the highest possible ratings from all relevant authorities, and our team members are really passionate pet people, the chain has instead chosen to recommend local rescue centres where possible.
Paul Lewis Managing Direct said "While the store has become known for the aviary and we will be sad to see the birds go, this also gives us the opportunity to offer customers much more in store to improve their shopping experience."
He continued "Our team's knowledge is second to none, they're passionate about pets and have extensive training, which means Just for Pets will still offer the best products and advice available, while recommending customers explore the option of local rescue centres where possible."
We continue to invest in our stores, with more exciting announcements expected soon!
